CopyFlow Gold for InDesign CS6 - 1.07

We have added a Clear Overrides menu item to this version of CopyFlow Gold.

It has two uses:

i) Users round-tripping text in the RTF format who export nicely styled text (with no typographic overrides) have found some typographic attributes set as overrides once the Adobe RTF filter has finished importing the text.  Clear Overrides provides  a quick way to clean up these formatting errors.

ii) In some scenarios excessive typographic overrides need to be removed before translation to the improve 'segmentation' for machine assisted translation. Clear Overrides simply clears all the typographic overrides on a designated portion of an InDesign document - leaving only the styled formatting in effect. CopyFlow Gold for InDesign CS6 - 1.06

We are continuing to add great new features to CopyFlow Gold for CS6. In this latest release we have added a tool to set the InDesign language settings  for hyphenation and spelling quickly and easily.

The new tool is accessed by a new menu item 'Set Language 'on the fly-off menu of the CopyFlow Gold panel.

This will display the following dialog for setting the language.

CopyFlow Gold for InDesign CS6 - 1.04

CopyFlow Gold for InDesign CS6 now includes an option to automatically set the InDesign language setting for spell check and hyphenation when importing translated text in the XLIFF, Translator's XML or Translator's HTML formats.

Skeleton files are now stored in the 'Naps' subfolder of the users Documents folder.

CS6 Upgrades to All Installers

If you are having trouble installing an extension to Creative Suite 6 - or if your extension 'disappeared' after your CS6 application received a minor update or patch -- please fetch the latest extension download and re-install.

GoMakeStyles cleans up InDesign text

We have now have an new extension for Adobe InDesign CS6. On sale for only $49.95

GoMakeStyles cleans up arbitrary typographic overrides by replacing them with paragraph and character styles. It first determines the optimum paragraph styles, then the simplest character styles to apply. New styles are named so their differences are apparent. Any existing styles are left in effect and applied where possible. The creation of new styles is kept to a minimum, so the program will not make more styles than are needed. Once GoMakeStyles has run all typographic formatting is accomplished via styles.

GoMakeStyles is a useful tool for all InDesign users. It is extremely helpful when cleaning up document text before re-purposing for other eBooks or other media, upgrading or translation.

Troubleshoot InDesign Documents

I came across a great page on the Adobe site the other day about troubleshooting problems with InDesign and wanted to share it here. Saving to IDML and then re-importing the IDML into InDesign has always been a favorite of mine, so I was glad to see it listed.
